MUNRO’S STUDIO
In the 1940s, local GP Dr James Munro built a home in Nannup for his family. Beside it he added some rooms for his general practice, and it is this building – three blocks away from Holberry House – that has been reborn as a lovely studio apartment.
The freshly renovated Munro’s Studio is blessed with the lush high ceilings and jarrah floorboards of its 1940s era, while its eclectic decor blends vintage, Art Deco and contemporary styles, playing with the building’s long history. The result is a warm, cheerful hideaway.
The Studio has its own entry onto a private courtyard for the exclusive use of guests. The home’s streetfront deck is also a wonderful spot for watching the world on a warm afternoon.
The living area has a kitchenette with a microwave, a gas cooktop, a bar fridge and a small dining table. The comfortable lounge has a smart TV (bring your Netflix login details and you can chill with some movies). Free-to-air TV channels are also available, and there’s complimentary wifi.
Munro’s Studio sleeps two people in a queen bed in its elegantly appointed bedroom. The bedroom opens onto a very contemporary ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet and basin.
There is a reverse cycle air-conditioner/heater in the main space, with ceiling fans in the lounge and bedroom; there’s also an electric blanket on the queen bed and the house has underfloor insulation. So, it’s cool in summer and nice and cosy in winter.
Munro’s Studio is a perfect place to shelter from the world, or to venture out and explore it. It’s a short stroll into the centre of Nannup, and a couple of kilometres from The Tank 7 Mountain Bike Park – not to mention everything else this pretty region has on offer.
Guests have their own entry off Struthers Street. There are steps up to the house, with handrails on both sides.
Note that the main house is sometimes occupied by the owners, but no one accesses the studio side when guests are in residence.
